Organisers of THIS THAT and Scene & Heard Festivals have today announced the postponement of their 2021 events, originally scheduled to take place at the end of October and start of November 2021.
THIS THAT festival was due to take place on Saturday 30 October at Sandstone Point in Queensland, and Saturday 6 November at Wickham Park in Newcastle. Scene & Heard festival, which usually piggybacks on Newcastle’s THIS THAT festival, was due to take place on Sunday 7 November also at Wickham Park.
In a statement today, organisers said they had every intention of bringing the festivals to Queensland and New South Wales this year but, unfortunately due to COVID, they’re moving dates once again.
THIS THAT has been rescheduled to Saturday 26 February 2022 in Newcastle and Saturday 5 March 2022 at Sandstone Point, with Scene & Heard festival moved to Sunday 27 February at the Wickham Park venue.
The organisers went on to state that, though restrictions are not as intense in Queensland, the team always intended for THIS THAT to be a double weekender across two states with the best acts playing from around the country – and this means acts moving between borders.
“By moving the dates to February and March, this new timeline will hopefully allow the safest and best opportunity to deliver the best festival experience for everyone.” the THIS THAT statement read.
