If the recent lockdowns or COVID-19 restrictions throughout 2021 have caused you to lose work across the creative industries, then this survey may be able to help. I Lost My Gig Australia have relaunched their survey for tracking 2021 cancelled events across Australia, giving workers the opportunity to share their experiences.

I Lost My Gig Australia was created by the Australian Festivals Association (AFA) and the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN) in order to capture data to measure the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Australia’s creative industries.

Along with tallying the total income lost, the number of jobs lost, and the number of live event and entertainment industry workers impacted, I Lost My Gig Australia will also be sharing individual stories from workers who have been affected.

By bringing together the data and stories from thousands of workers, I Lost My Gig Australia can take this information to state and federal governments and make sure that people’s stories are heard, and that action is undertaken to provide adequate support.

The events and entertainment industries rely on a lot of workers who often live gig-to-gig, including artists, managers, festival operators, production crew and venue workers just to name a few.

If you’ve lost work due to COVID-19 restrictions or due to any of the lockdowns, please fill out the survey here. Share the survey with your own network and forward this link onto anyone who you know might have been affected. If you click here, you can head to the I Lost My Gig Australia website resource page, where you’ll also be able to find resources such as template letters to send to your MPs to mutual aid, community organisations, grant opportunities, courses and FAQs to government stimulus overviews.
