The dates are fixed for the Australian round of the 2022 Grand Prix. 14-16 October 2022. The championship will begin in Qatar for its season-opener on March 6 at the Losail International Circuit. The series then moves to Indonesia for the new race at Mandalika International Street Circuit.

Andrew Westacott AGPC CEO says, “The Australian Grand Prix… will once again deliver crucial support to the local region, which has been doing it tough throughout the pandemic.

“It’s been far too long since fans made the pilgrimage to Phillip Island. I can’t wait to see the MotoGP faithful back at the circuit, for what never fails to be an action-packed weekend.”

This is a highpoint on Australia’s sporting calendar with two Aussies set to compete in the premier class. The event is set to be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the exceptional talent and skill within the Australian event industry.

Dorna Sports CEO, Carmelo Ezpeleta says, “In addition to the stunning landscape and the exciting layout that offers great battles, the return to Phillip Island’s iconic circuit after two long years is one of the most awaited events for us.”

Jack Miller and Remy Gardner will line up at Phillip Island on October 14-16 after the pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 races. Miller said it would be great to race again at the revered circuit.
